ments to this Conference, the date of which is not
yet fixed, but if it were intended to ask Sir C.
Clementi Smith to again represent His Majesty's Gov-
ernment it seems to us that the association of Max
Miller with him would be a happy combination.
Perhaps you would consider the matter and let me
know your views. I have written a similar letter to
Ritchie at the India Office.
